Since February 2013, United Lutheran Church has joined with St. Andrew Lutheran Church (Eden Prairie, MN) and other congregations to form Seeds of Support for the village of Pasquette, near Jacmel, Haiti. This mission work follows a model of accompaniment, whereby we seek to build relationships, learn from one another, and - out of deepened awareness and respect - provide out of our comparative abundance.
Working together, we have been able to provide clean drinking water, solar electric panels, and a bakery. While Covid-19 and unrest in Haiti have affected our ability to be together in person, our support continues, thanks to the relationships and trust we have already established. We look forward to when we can once again travel to see our sisters-and-brothers-in Christ.
